WEST WARWICK -- Trudy Dufault did extra duty yesterday.

As usual, the co-founder of the Ocean State Women's Golf Association helped organize and run a tournament, in this case the four-woman team championship at Midville. She also helped compile scores and determine winners.

When it came time to hand out the awards, there was Dufault again, not only handing them out but receiving one of the winners' shares.

Dufault combined with her daughter Karen, Carol Clarey, the OSWGA president, and Elaine Crawford to win the low-gross title in the Championship Division. The team fired a 109 in the event, which included a nine of two best balls of the foursome, then a nine-hole scramble. The Triggs team of Kyong Kim, Ann DeStafanis, Linda DeRosa and Judy Gravier was second at 112. Pamela Baker, Rebeca Moniz, Karin McGiveron and Terry Kling took third at 119.

Donna DeBlasio of Triggs and three West Warwick players -- Diane Kelly, Jayne Graham and Dot Murray -- won low net with an 87. Barbara Davis, Catherine Parente, Linda Albamonti and Sue Falcone combined for a 91 for second, taking the runner-up spot on matching cards over Deb Creta, Ethel Guisti, Cathy Dionne and Kim McGuinness.

In the "A" Division, the team of Carolyn Brown, Luanne Goggins, Jean Mattley and May Lou Sevigney won with a 119, edging Diane Chester, Linda Gelineau, Gail Smith and Beth Penkla by one shot. There was a tie for net at 91, with the team of Anna Jones, Barbara Anderson, Cheryl Idone and Nikki Hartshorn taking first on matching cards over Judy McAuley, Beverly Stamp, Ruth St. Marie and Debra Smith.
