The point system was created to select one player to represent the OSWGA at the USGA State Team Championship, which is held every 2 years. That player is joined by two players from the RIWGA. The player with the most points at the conclusion of two years earns the right to represent the OSWGA. In order to be eligible you must be a member by April 1st of said year.
Points can be earned between August 1, 2009 and July 31, 2011. You can earn points by finishing within the top ten gross positions against the field. In partner events, the points will be equally divided amongst each team member. The following 12 tournaments are point events:

~ RI Women's State President's Cup
~ RI Women's State Four-Ball Championship ~ Championship Division only
~ RI Women's State Stroke Play Championship

~ RI Women's State Par 3 Championship
~ OSWGA Class Championship
~ OSWGA Memorial
~ OSWGA Team Medal Play
~ OSWGA Founder's Invitational
PLEASE NOTE
In order to represent the State of RI in the USGA State Team Championship, you must be a permanent resident of RI. *MA residents point totals must be kept in case of a change of residency within the next two years. Juniors are not eligible.
Due to the NCAA policy, any student playing on a college golf team are not eligible to represent the OSWGA on the USGA State Team.
