CALL TO ORDER: The President welcomed everyone
in attendance and called the meeting to order at
OLD BUSINESS: Letters were approved to be
sent to the players at Quidnessett Country Club who teed off from the wrong
hole stating that no error had been made since it was a “best ball” tournament
and her score wasn’t used on that hole.
Letters were also approved to be sent to the players
who won at Fall River Country Club stating they were stripped of their title
and points due to the team handicap being less than 25. Also approved were letters to be sent to
those winners now in place. The
Tournament Chairperson will pick up Gift Certificates at either Golfer’s
Warehouse or Warwick Mall to be included in the mailing.
NEW BUSINESS: Scorers and players are
responsible for hole by hole accuracy on score cards and also for making sure
cards are legible. The scoring committee
is responsible for addition on players’ cards.
Since there have recently been scoring errors, every card needs to be
added after every tournament for to assure accuracy. There will be a committee in place to the do
the scoring so that mistakes can be eliminated.
TOURNAMENT
OF
CHAMPIONS: Since applications for
this tournament are so low, it was decided to wait until the June 7th
cutoff date to determine if this needs to be cancelled/postponed. We need to notify Lincoln Country Club and
entrants as soon as possible. It was
discussed to hold this tournament every other year and have two year champions
from each course.
