New for 2010
THIS YEAR ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES THAT MEASURE DISTANCE ONLY ARE ALLOWED IN ALL OSWGA EVENTS
For the entire 2010 season, OSWGA Tournament Committee has adopted this local rule.
A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during an OSWGA event, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.
Furthermore, the committee specifies that communication devices such as cell phones, I-phones, Blackberry’s, PDAs, etc. equipped with measuring device capabilities are also prohibited with the penalty for use being disqualification. Please note that information obtained from legal EMDs may be shared with fellow competitors.
